On the water Practices are 6:00-8:00am Monday through Saturday at the Olympic Basin. Second workouts (weights, ERG) are compulsory and athletes will be given a training plan. These second workouts are to be done on the athlete’s own time, depending on your class schedule. For directions by bike or metro to the Basin, visit the Where We Train page .
Racing
The bulk of our racing season is in the fall. Because our regattas are out of province, we are required to leave Montreal on the Friday before the race. We return to Montreal the same night of each regatta. Below is a list of our races and the approximate departure times: final departure times will be confirmed but will be within 1 hour of the times below:

CURCs (Welland)
The total for this year of rowing is $580. Athletes who make the team are rquired to pay the full amount no later than the first race (September 25th). Should an athlete have difficulties making a full payment, he/she must meet with the Head Coach and the President as soon as possible. Your crew fees cover the following:

- Hotel rooms
- Buses
- Boat transportation
- Coaching salaries
- Access to the rowing facilities at Parc Jean Drapeau
- Equipment (repair, rental and maintenance)
- Boats
- Oars
- Coxboxes
- Tools
Extra Costs
There are certain items that are not included in the crew fees
Uniform
- Unisuit (For JV and Varsity only) $72.00

Fundraising
As with every team, athletes have to fundraise in order to pay for new equipment purchases. This year, fundraising will be a combination of a package to sell and volunteering hours to be completed over the course of the school year.
- Fundraisng Package
Each athlete must pay $300 for a fundraising package. The package includes :
- 50 Chocolate bars to sell at $2.00 each
- 10 Tote bags to sell at $5.00 each
- 8 Water bottles to sell at $10.00 each
From these packages, the team makes $14,000 and this money goes DIRECTLY to pay for new equipment (boats and oars) .
- Volunteering
Throughout the course of the year, there will be various events where MURC will have the opportunity to raise funds. Athletes must volunteer 20 hours throughout the year. The athletes who completes the most hours will receive theVolunteer of the Year Award. Below is a list of our tentative volunteering schedule.
- Montrea Triathlon (September 4th/5th to 11th)
- Football Games (September 9th), (October 29th – Novice and JV only)
- Grocery Bagging at Loblaws in NDG
- Samosa Sales
- Crazy Shorts ($20.00 each)
- Crazy Headbands ($4.00 each, 2 for $7.00)
